 Jojo Ackermann started out as a fan of tattoos in the early 1980s because of the hardcore punk scene. He began professionally tattooing in 1992 working for the next 16 years in a busy street shop where he was influenced by many different styles and ultimately gravitated toward his passion for the larger American- Japanese style of work he is known for today. He is co-owner of Ten Thousand Waves Tattoo Gallery in Sherman Oaks California.
